Monitoring your child’s progress
Throughout your child’s time at nursery, his/her progress and learning achievements will be carefully monitored to ensure that his/her needs are being met and that he/she is fulfilling his/her potential. Your child’s key-worker will be happy to discuss your child’s work and progress on a daily basis, but if you feel that you would like to discuss his/her progress in more detail than the time allows during the session, or if you have particular concerns, the staff are willing to arrange a mutually convenient time for more in-depth discussion. We realise that some parents are unable to come to nursery on a regular basis and if this is the case, we will be happy to arrange times for these parents to see staff after the session. The staff keep an on-going record of each child’s progress in learning and begin to compile the Foundation Stage Profile which is continued as a record into the Reception Year. The staff will arrange for parents to have access & to contribute to these.
Your key person will always be available to talk informally with you about your child’s progress
BUT, in addition…
There will be an opportunity, once each term, for you to have a private, in-depth conversation about your child with a member of staff.
We will endeavour to offer a number of dates and a range of times each term, so that as many parents/carers as possible can take this opportunity to work in partnership with staff in order to support your child’s learning
